New car neede

Now, i know ive said this alot of times, but since the chevy has been scrapped i NEED a new car. want some poke, but has to be big and safe (for the missus) and at most around £1500

been suggested

Saab 900/9-3 2.0 SE (turbo)
VW Passat VR6 Estate (2.8)
VW Golf Mk3 VR6 (2.9)
BMW 3/5 Series 2.3 (E36/E39)
Volvo V40 T4 (bit out of the price range!)
Mercedes Benz C280
Ford Mondeo ST24

anything else?

or anyone owned any of the above?

Absolutely no point me saying anything .. nothing at all!

I wont even mention that you should have a BMW 325 e36. Nope not
going to say it at all, my mouth is zipped about the fantastic handling,
rwd, great weight distribution and fantastic overal driving characteristics
you will get.... nope

yeah, we get the T4, but theyre really overpriced to be honest.

my wife has now spotted a 1997 Saab 900 S (non turbo) in black, with only 70k miles on the clock, this car is in unbelievable condition! so just have to wait for insurance money to come through now!

nah not the t4, the 2.0T, not all the bells and whistles version.

imo get a volvo 850 turbo or soemthing. still a great car even though it has a few years on it.
i have no idea how the prices are over in england, but arent Mondeo st200's usually cheap?

ST200s are cheap, jsut fuel isnt.

most cheaper 850 T5s are wragged silly over here.

yeh, we get the 2.0T V40, but to say they are rare is an understatment

we're off to look at a 1996 saab 900 2.0 on saturday morning

its black
with cream cloth inteior
completley and utterly standard
73k miles
full saab history
2 owners from new
and utterly immaculate

right, bought a car!

just happened to be walking past when i saw it

brace yourselves and dont laugh

ford mondeo 1.8 LX 1993 in deep green/blue.

now yes you may be laughing but

its got 75k genuine miles (proved by masses of reciepts, service stamps etc etc
not exterior rust! yes seriously!
immaculate interior
50k mile engine! as the first owner didnt top the oil up! so ford replaced it under warranty and then she looked after it religously!

had a proper look over and this car is CLEAN

no rust anywhere that i can see.

golden oil (rather than black sludge)
new exhaust
loads of new parts

well impressed for the bargain i got :D

deffo needs a set of rims, tints and leather though :D
and a few colour coded parts
