This is the Met Police's new catch-you motor.

The 640bhp Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 will be at MPH'06 on the Met Police stand -- we hear that the 6.5-ltre V12-powered machine had to be hurried covered during the photo-shoot as it was in danger of causing traffic accidents.

However, the Met Police was at pains to say that the 211mph, £180,000 supercar hasn't been paid for with public money. But in the eight miles that the Met Police was allowed to drive it, it was stopped twice by other Met units, having committed no traffic violations. Have they nothing better to do?

its real alright, several police forces across the country have lambos, quite worrying really

but if you think about it it feels about as useful as the squarewheel, because sure, now they can go as fast as the people they are chasing, but then what? I mean they are not gonna dare ram anyone with it, so it'll basically just be a high speed chase till eithere someone fucks up and crashes or till someone runs outta petrol

I was under the impression that it wasn't a legit police car, was just sporting that livery for the show.

That's what i read in the paper anyway.

Thats a fake, If im not wrong I saw a Gallardo with licenceplate number YEVIL on Gumball 3000 :)

It seems its been done as a stunt after all. It was done to promote road safety in the UK's Capital, but i suppose that makes sense for the reasons Zels mentioned!

hehe this car is probably needed. There was this old video of an volvo 850 i think chasing this bmw m5 e39...they lost him so a faster car is definitly needed :) - although u need a driver behind a faster car.
