Shell V-power Canada a Lie?

How does Shell make its business? For instance in sweden we have 99 octane which is V-power from Shell (designed by ferrari f1 or whatever they say)

They say the exact same thing here in Canada on the comercials, "better gas which cleans your engine, created by the people behind ferrari formula 1". And when you go to fill your tank up its 95 Octane! Shouldn't it be the same all over the world?

V-power has a different octane rating dependin on tha market. Germany has 100 RON while Ireland only gets 95 for example. That said, it could be due to Canada perhaps using the MON rating system as the states do?

In the US they usually use pump octane number, (RON+MON)/2, don't know about Canada though.

The fuel is made using the same technology as the fuel Shell makes for Ferrari. But, it's not the same fuel as the F1 engine use.

Here in Belgium the V-Power is 98 RON
We can choose in the most stations between 95 & 98 RON from all brands (98 is more expensive).

yeah we get optimax, which they still say was engineered in the same way as the do the fuel for Ferrari. Our fuel Is 98RON. But i think we have 99RON, and possible 100RON on its way.

95RON is our regular rubbish .. hahaha

Poyan I think you are getting confused between MON and RON.

In US etc they display the octane value in MON while here in Europe we use RON.

93MON is 98 RON so 95MON is close to 100RON.

85MON usually have 95RON..

soo 95 can be (90MON+100RON)/2 = 95

optimax is now being phased out in the uk, were getting a new name for it and an increse from 98 to 102-103 ron, o yeah bring it on :):):)

Are you sure? I know BP will offer 102 ron petrol in some service stations in larger citites but I haven't heard anything about Shell doing the same.

Then again, we got screwed with 95 ron as the best fuel in ROI, fecking government and their stinky taxes :(

already done so i've been led to beleive, tis y optimax has gone up by 5p a litre over the past few weeks
