GT3 gets even more hardcore

This is the wildest, hardest and lightest of the latest Porsche 911s, the new GT3 RS, which goes on sale in the UK in October for a Turbo-beating £94,280.

Built as a homologation model for the GT3 race car, the RS borrows plenty of its features, such as the built-in roll cage, fire extinguisher, plastic rear window and adjustable carbonfibre rear wing.

Although it uses the same 415bhp 3.6-litre flat six engine as the standard GT3, a lightened flywheel means it revs more freely. Factor in a 20kg lighter overall weight (1375kg) than the GT3, and a special close-ratio six-speed gearbox and the RS shaves a tenth of a second off the GT3’s 0-62mph time, hitting the benchmark in 4.2sec.

Standard colours are silver or black with orange or black wheels, but buyers will also be able to choose this in-yer-face orange or a similarly vibrant green as options. Inside, there are carbonfibre bucket seats, six-point race harnesses and Alcantara trim.

It's a very nice car, but you can't tune it I think.

You can tune anything it is just a matter of $$$$$$$$ :)

yeah i think its very nice and has probably taken care of most of the normal tuning routes, but anything can be done. Like A says, its all about the cash flow :)

The colour is superb also!

mmm i'd have to junk the aircon, stereo etc to save more weight, then dump the door cards, roof lining, carpets and all the sound deadening , gotta be another 50kg there!
