New function available! User Reputation
We have now switched on "User Reputation" on the forum, this function gives you the ability to rate and give point to other users depending on their posts.
This will be tested under a period of time and will be evaluated. We will modify this function after our needs.
It works as a measure-stock for the issues that we discuss so that you know who's word is the biggest and heaviest. There's always been discussions about people giving wrong answers. This causes problems, specially in juridical and technical occasions.
As you might have noticed you have a little silver scale next to your username. To grade a user you click on the scale and choose to give positive or negative reputation-points. Also leave a comment regarding to the subject. The rules you give through the scale are the same as the ones for posting on the forum. The posts will be sophisticated. You as a person who rate could get warned for a comment that has a very rude tone.
The points and comments can be seen at the bottom of the profile on other users, and you can see your own points in the control panel at the bottom. These points are shown in every post in the future.
The points are divided like this:
When you register you will have 10 points.
To be able to give points you must have 50 posts.
You have to have at least 10 positive points to be able to grade someone.
You can only share 10 points a day.
You can only grade a specific user 1/10 times. Meaning you cannot give him all your 10 points.
When you, as a new user give or take points, you will only remove 1 point/credit (Admins give and take 10 points/credits each time)
For each year that you have been active, you will increase your rating level with 1 point. (if you have been a member more than a year you will give 2 points, 2 years will be 3 points and so on).
For every 300 positive points you collect, will increase your rating value with 1 point.
For every 2000 posts your clicking will increase with 1 point in value.
It's a little difficult to use but thats because we want to make it hard to manipulate.
Example 1: A user has been registered for 3 months and have 50 posts and clicks to rate, this will give the user he clicks on 1 positive or 1 negative point.
Example 2: A user has been registered for 3 months and have 2000 posts, this means that he will give 5 points for each click. If he has over 300 positive points he will gain 1 extra point for each rating, meaning 6 points total.
