Depends, what car you have really. 'Road Tax' here is based on the engine size of your car, and ultimatly how much damage your doing to the environment. In the worst case though, you are looking at about £95 for 6 months.
Insurance again will be very different, and will depend what mods you have, how old you are, and where your living?

Don't have it yet, getting a Golf 3 VR6 and its gonna be modded like hell i can tell u...not really sure where in england it'll be yet, most probably Nottingham or central england anyway...The problem with having it swedish registered thoughis that i'm gonna have to drive the fucker back to swden once a year to get its mot and then just before the mot i'm gonna have to take off a whole ton of shit from the car so it goes through =/ (xtremely pathetic laws here in sweden..your not even able to have more then a 3-point seatbelt (y the fuck would you ban something that can save your life?)
i'm from nottingham originally moved to stockholm 2 years ago, i would bother going to nottingham in a modded car itll just get broke into/stolen or damaged by some jealous idiot, to be honest mate nottingham is a great place for beer and birds but its full of plastic gangsters which is also reflected in the price of insurance in the uk. however if you do go i can recommend some good places to go
also the bilprovning here in sweden is heavily dependent on the european certificate of conformity for the cars, where as in sunny blighty as we call it its all about the safety of the car. might be worth checking if you can mot the car in the uk while your staying there ?

Ok, so fucked up that people can't destinguish between mine and yours...but yet again, Nottingham is only on place on my list of unis ;)
But i'm pretty sure that u can't mot a car in a foreign country =/...but maybe i'll just have to do like the old man says and sell the car and take the bus..he says that even if i have my car in england i won't be able to park it at the uni =/
mr w yeah notts is great for a beer as there are so many cool places to go,as for coming to sweden it in the EU so its not difficult to come here and work ,however the big problem is here everyone MUST have a personal number your date of birth plus 4 digits, to get a a job you need a bank account , to get a bank acount you need your personal number so you really need to enquire about it before you leave but its really nice here, makes a change from all the chavs...lol,
also zels why not register the car in the uk ? i dont how much this would cost tho

I've decided i'm not gonna get a golf in the end, been looking a lot into them and in the end i've just realised that its a pretty crap buy...they've are all driven to hell and back by young people destroying the clutch and gear box...decided that i'm probably going for an Audi S4 or something =)
