But then again............ I don't really know how you economy works and what amount of money would be too much to pay for something like this, based on wages/depreciation etc.. Minimum wage in the state of illinois is around 7$ and hour now, what is it in england? Plus, I've read an article that car depreciate very fast in the U.K, which would be great to find gems like these at great prices. I think I was watching fifth gear last year and saw a excerpt where they were showing a 2-3 vw phaeton depreciate to like 30% of its original value in that time.
cars in the uk depreciate horendously once they role out the showroom, after that the bigger the car and engine, the quicker its value subsides.

Some cars in the uk though hold value, these are the small city cars with small engines, becuase every wants one.
Not that many people really want enourmous cars that are fuel thirsty. espeically with our road tax (which is based on engine size and vehicle emissions) and rediculous insurance!

Wow, guess I spoke too soon, but you do get a bargain on big engined cars, like that lexus, and its damned stylish too and very comfortable. Registration cost me 220$ for the evo, thats with new plates. Chicago city sticker cost me an extra 80$, although if I lived in the suburbs it would have been something liek 20$. If I could find a job that delivers at least £20/hr, I'd actually contemplate moving out to the uk.
I also understand you guys pay "MOT", like a yearly tax on a car? Is that also based on miles and whatnot?
once a car reaches 3 years old in the UK it has to undergo a roadworthy annual test - an MOT. We ALSO pay a yearly or half yearly tax on cars (dependant on engine size and emissions) and we pay Insurance on top of that
and our fuel is 70% tax.
so running a car in the uk is quite expensive really!
£20 an hour jobs are not common, if i went contract staff on my job i could earn that sort of money, with it going up to £50 an hour($100 an hour)
