Well, the volvo goes in a couple of days, after a long discussion with A whilst I was in Sverige, i decided it would be a waste of money to try and get big power and handling out of it.

Put it up for sale, and got offered this in part ex

Reason for the Project 23 name is - 23 is my lucky number, had it on everything since i was a kid, its actually my 32 or 33rd car, so has no bearing on that.

also managed to shift my springs and spacers for the volvo so bonus there!

anyway

its a 2002 Clio 172 in Monaco blue with a few subtle mods so i can concentrate on the go this time more than the show.

of course the car will get a full wrap in the white red and black shown below.

got the car today

and ive been busy

as it arrived more or less...

sooo

since it has arrived, ive checked it out a bit more, and theres a few niggly bits, hydraulic lifters are well noisy, so i'll be changing those soon. including a full renault oil, filter change.

theres a couple of window rubber seals missing, so i'll be getting them ordered.

im well happy with the stance (although i want to space the front rims out 15mm
the alpine headunit with ipod lead so i can use my phone, in there.
the interior (although i need to clean it) is awesome - alcantara and leather

so today ive

painted the manifold crackle black to offset the cream engine cover - which i will be wrapping in carbon fibre

also APC'd the whole car to get rid of the wax Mat had put on yesterday,,

ready for a full machne polish.

I spent 45 mins figuring a good combo for pad and polish and eventually settled on Sonus swirl remover with a hard compund pad, 2 passes at level 4.2 till polish brakes down, then 2 final passes with sonus fine show car polish.

i'll then be adding sonus paint sealer - i usually use poorboys, but ive not tried the sonus

then 2 layers of blackhole as it really pushes the depth of any dark paint

then 3 layers of zymol hard wax

so this is where ive got tonight

lots of swirls all over the whole car

50 50 of the rear bumper

a few afters before refinement. no wax, glaze or sealant here, and bad lighting to boot!

some depth been added here

and some pop back in the metallic

this would look amazing with a sun gun, or even daylight!

further plans are to finish the polishing, and detailing.

wrap the cream interior parts in carbon fbre

wrap the rear bumper infill panel in carbon (the thin black one)

ordering a new steering wheel tomorrow as the one in there is damaged - suede deep dish 350mm

did a bit more this morning, and got some sunshine to show it off

50 50 of the bonnet before refinement or LSPs

rear spoiler and third high level brake light looking alot better than it did further up the page!

zatzy.com numberplate surrounds. I'll be making a vinyl front number plate later today due to the smoothed out bumper meaning ive got nowhere to mount it - gonna use euro font rather than uk though

gonna be wrapping the cream interior parts tonight after the littluns gone to bed so expect photos tomorrow

also - ordered the steering wheel and hub adapter now so should have that on by the end of the week

got a few sneaky mins in tonight after being out all day

got rid of the cream interior

even did the steering wheel despite the fact my new one is due in a couple of days...

might wrap the diamonds tonight also, but catching up with todays british superbike racing, which means i may not be doing anymore........

Love those, so much fun to drive. Still think clio cup races clioII and not clioIII because it's faster.
