Emmatelle - Saab 9-5
I have a Saab .....
I'm not sure what to do with it. Since I bought it, it has caused me endless problems. Currently it sits on my drive looking sorry for itself with a hole in the engine. It's been there for a while and to be honest I haven't even been under the car to look yet. It's very cold outside and I'm soft! It is also now not road legal with no tax or MOT.
In addition to this, I have broken down with a blown turbo, had to replace blown gaskets, serpentine belts, power steering pumps, brakes, tyres, wheel bearings, engine pipes and much more. Still broken are things like the heater.
There is a silly little piece of plastic that controls the A/C to all the heater vents and as that has broken, it's stopped the whole heater..... well according to the error code anyway. Something to do with it not being able to determine whether I want the heat in the back, front, left, right, up or down.... why did this car have to be so complicated!?
Although all of the electronics work, some of the displays are a bit dodgy... they lose some of their digits making them unreadable. More so in the top radio and general display, not so much in the A/C one.
It's also an auto, it's old and not very fast at all!!
The problem is though, I love the car! It has a really nice shape, it's very comfy and it's easy to drive when I wear silly shoes. The stereo is also really good with something like 9 speakers... Really not bad as a stock fitting.
I have been offered another car, a 9-3 (1999). It's good for scrap really except for the wheels and the engine, which could make sorting mine out a little easier?
So, is it worth making one good car out of two?

haha Blind?
Yeah I love this shape too. I love the newer shape, but this is about as old as I go with them, without starting to think they look dodgy. I used to have a 900 turbo though (early 900), in black and that looked seriously cool!
Yeah I do, I'm trying to sort out this other donor car and to get it to my house so I can start rebuilding mine. In actual fact, your Volvo looking so good and my being fed up with the Escort is what's making me want to get this sorted out.

Ah yeah, but it's still one sweet ride! The reason I was mentioning your car really is just because
it's not ever going to be quick, it's more about how it looks. Great shape and with the right mods
and styling it will just look amazing.
Same with mine, it's never going to be fast and so for the first time in my life, I think I'm going to
concentrate on how the car looks instead of how quick it is. No spoiler, clean boot, clean lines, maybe
a bit lower on those other wheels, possibly a different colour, but not much else yet.
This one is nice being the saloon, not a big fan of the 9-3 (or hatch version). The aero looked
pretty similar, except for different wheels and side skirt things.

The 900 was ace, mine was trouble though. It was like driving a tank and the engine was a pain in the
bum to work on (I was still learning a lot then, I was 17). Looked so good though!
I mean.... Yep!
