Thought i'd post some pictures of my Alfa project. Its my first proper car build so nearly everything I do I learn along the way so don't be suprised if i turn out a lot of questions from my part :P
The car is an Alfa Romeo 75 -88 with a 3.0litre V6 engine pushing out 188hp 245Nm original, bearing in mind that the car ways 1210kg its pretty decent in my eyes, especially seeing that it was my first car. Official figures say 0-60mph in 7.5seconds
Being Rear wheel driven it was a lot of fun in the winter and the weight balance is outstanding (think its 54% on the front and 46%on the rear)
My goal with the project is not to make one hell of a beast like some of the other cool projects on Zatzy, main things are to learn, have fun (a lot of swearing too tho :P) and build a somewhat cool car :D
Alfas aren't famous for being straight forward racers, they show their beauty in cornering, so i'm going to pretty much stick to that, not much is going to happen enginewise, maybe some new cams, lightly modded top, new exaust from front to back. The car is gonna be lighter, ideal goal would be just a ton but lets not get ahead of ourselves shell we so i'm putting my goal to less then 1100kg, this will be achieved through having no interior and changing everything that can be changed to fibreglass such as the bonnet and such.
the car will be fitted with powerflex nearly everywhere except where i'll take one step further and fitting bearings such as the casterjoint in the front and that front main dedion joint.
Bilstien dampers together with "MT stage 2" springs in the rear = low and stiff and Bilstein dampers with new thicker torsionbars at the front.
for safety if i find someone that isn't too expensive i'll be fitting a roll cage since the car will be used on a track
As you may have noticed in one of the previous pics my current garage is a big tent...and i don't recommend it...so if anyone from the swedish section is reading this then send me a PM if you know of a good garage in Södertälje =)

yeah Asphalt mats, although most people refer to it as sound deadening, but we know what you mean. Are you changing the colour of the car then? I liked the yellow on the rear frame.

thats what the colours is gonna be later, i just love the look of having colour coded parts underneath :D
so its gonna be a mix of that yellow and small details will be in black suck as the small wing (can get pictures soon) the lists running on the side of the car and mirrors for example, and black rear windows of course...guess in the end i miht aswell call it the bumblebee :P
don't expect a quick moving project tho, have to find a proper garage to work in and the main concern with being young is that i don't have the economy to match the ideas, so i guess it'll be a lovely winter living on noodles (lucky i like noodles :D)

BTW, didn't you have a project up here before or is my mind playiny tricks on me? :S where that gone?
Yeah i had a couple of BMW's ongoing, but they have slowed up a bit due to other life long aspirations
