New ride/car/auto
Well, I dunno what to say. I've been wanting one ever since they came out back in 03. And here I am 4+ years later, able to afford one, how I wanted it and at a decent price. I just dunno what to say, I mean it hasn't even hit me yet that I have this thing, I'm sure it will within a week. I thought I wouldn't be able to afford one, but since I got my new job 6 months ago, well things have changed a lil so without further adieu:

and a glimpse of whats underneath

Its a 2006 Evo 9. had 23,800 on odo when I got it today. Fully loaded ssl package. Also came with extras:
Ams frontmouont with Lower intercooler pipe
Walboro fuel pump (dunno which one but gessing 190 since lack of whine)
Buschur racing turbo back exhuast (there is no cat on this thing, no cel shows up)
autometer 30-0-30 boost gauge.
A manual boost controller (mounted under steering wheel in cabin)
Exedy clutch
Ams ecu flash.
I still dunno what to say, will when it hits me. Main gripe(s):
No cruise control
No keyhole on glovebox to lock it
No 6th gear
Suprisingly enough, I gunned it a few times and the boost gauge doesn't go past 16psi, so i dunno if it was originally tuned for that or did the dealer turn it down.
The dsm will have to go now, or be parted out, most likely. I'm pretty sure I won't have a hard time finding buyers for parts since they are unique and engineered to work.
I've tried looking up general maintenance on evolutionm.net (what fluids to use in diffs and such, etcc...) but no dice, maybe someone can be of assist here?
Tell me whatcha guys think. Thanks.
Damian.

Astonishing car! Perfect colour choice! You just bought a car with one of the largest tuning potential, are you gonna to exploit it's tuning potential?

Looking well, 16psi about 1.1ish maybe more bar?? I think you can get away with running them at 1.6 bar with supporting mods. EVO IX's are meant to have better pistons and conrods than previous models so they should be good for some abuse happy motoring.

yeah I know, stock motor should push 500hp no problems. The turbo is good for 400hp as well. But I like it how it is right now.

I don't know what car did you owned previous but 280 hp is enough to start with, first you have to learn to harness all this power and after a year or so you'll find to increase it's power because it becomes a little bit boring( this happend with me and my RS, but sadly there weren't any power upgrades for it so it must to go--btw. this is not your case, EVO tuning potential seems endless :) ). Oh, and do not forget to upload more pics!

Yeah I know, I'm actually leaving the car as-is, I was just trying to explain what the stock engine is capable of. I will post up pics soon!

Thanks man. Yeah his car is the equivalent of what you call the vauxhall monaro, just with a pontiac badge and less options.
