With the help of Johnathan, I can write my first thread on Zatzy!!!
For those who(which??) don't know me, I do the presentation:
I'm a french guy who lives in one of the european capital: Strasbourg. I'm 28 years old and love cars and motorbikes...
I ever had a 916 Ducati fully customized with a lot of carbon fiber parts, new paintjob, perf' parts, and so on. But, one day, my "black pearl" was gone... :-(
Now (in fact since 2006) I modify a classical BMW 325i coupe into a pure drift car...
I had to restore some "rust" problems before working on the front and rear drive trains!
Actually, the mods are:
- fully restored and welded bodyshell with roll cage.
- All rubber bushing replaced by CNC parts, Powerflex bushes, or just new ///M bushes.
- Reinforced arms and subframes (as I saw on Turner Motorsport website)
- Coilovers
- Sparco Rev seat and Sparco steering wheel
- Fully empty car, even heating unit!
- Completely "in parts" motor
...
These days I'm working on fiberglass parts:
- Rear wide arches (because of the 9x18" wheels at the rear)
-Front wide fenders
- Big racing plenum for ///M ITB modification
- Dashboard
-...
Next month, I hope to paint the interior of the car and reinstall drivetrains. During this summer, I'll plan to paint the exterior of the car. And next year, I'll try to make one of the best N/A 2.5liters motor with WISECO pistons, reinforced rods, cams, and all the good parts I'll need!

And I discover... the rust!
At the rear of the arches... (front and rear)

On the driver side, under the car (after a bad repair job.Surprise..! I hate 2nd hand car!!)
All these rusted items oblige me to repair: sheet replacement and weldings are the program!

After these « small » repairs, it's time to transforme the car onto the ultimate drift machine!
To realize this, I need a better handling than origin and resiting subframes and braces.
No problems, Turner Motosport have the solution: they show on their website « how to » reinforce these items.
At first, I pull out the motor and drive train.
I sand somes parts (subframes, arms, ,,,)
I create somes reinforcement parts and welded them:
Rear sway bar reinforcement:
Camber arm reinforcement plates:
Front subframe reinforcement:
And bought at BMW somes parts: rear subframes/chassis reinforcement plates
I've welded them...
And reinstall the subframe with Solid Aluminuim bushing kit (made by a friend, as the motor and transmission mounts)
All the arms are now painted in blue, just for the fun!
After this: the roll cage!
I bought it from a friend and repainted this one in black. Now, ti's welded to the bodyshell.
I've made plates for the driver seat and paint them in black too,
I have found AP racing 4 pistons calipers and 300x30mm floating slotted rotors. A nightmare to create the adapter plates and hats!! But the price was good!!!!!
I'll think that the Individual Throttle Bodies (from a ///M3) will be a headache too...
but here are the pics of the futur ultimate plenum... wahahahaha
And no problems for the ///M headers...
I've found a ///M bumper... I repaired it and repaint it
And as I have time to spend, I have painted my 18 'wheels in black and motorcover in red/silver...
It's enough for the moment...
Come back in a few weeks to see the paintjob of the car and the bodykit...

Fucking hell....Man that looks like there`s some work to do!! But very interesting project, i will keep following it! I extremely like the reinforced wishbones! That looks like racing! But what about the cat? Was it installed also? :-)
Very nice project! Thought it would be turbocharged, but i was surprised that it wont be :) Almost every bimmer has turbo nowdays. This i will follow, good luck!

I'm thinking about a news... I have found another 325i coupe for parts. Logically, next week at home! I only know that the engine can't start, and some parts are missing. But it will... freeby! :-) (to confirm)
