I love those scooby chassis, alas when we got them here in the states we only got the non turbo 2.5 litre version. It must be one of the best looking wrx chassis ever, being a 2 door and all. I like how you got the oil cooler up in the front but if you upgrade to a front mount it might cause some logistic problems.

you mean mine? its got 4 doors, or do you mean the type r/p1/22b?
there a gap cut in the front bulk head behind the bumper to fit the pipe work thtrough, the cooler its self is huge lol, its about 4 times the size of the cooler fited to clinics track car :o lol
takes a bit of re-organising to fit a front mount, but the cooler fits to one side of the intercooler infront of it, if i were to have one fitted that is

yeah, I dont know the body style chassis code, but the ones that look like the 22b, ahh they all look similar (With minor cosmetic changes) from the early 90's into the millennium.

ahhh righto cool
right been having a natter with scoobyclinic, looks like plans for turbo gone on hold for a coupl eof months, £4 grand :o for the stuff i want done, but the spec is.
Modified VF34 turbo, group N rally spec with faster spooling and comes in at about 2.5k and on full boost at about 2.8.
Fast flow unequal length headers (unequal to keep burble :D )
New turbo Up-pipe, high flow rate and also suited to fit new turbo
Front mount intercooler
Induction kit (have to replace standard airbox when fit a front mount)
550cc injectors
turbosmart Eboost2 boost controler
should be up to about 320-330bhp, which isn't huge cos of the pistons (go much more and i'll fry them :( ) but combined with the fast spool turbo should be very very fast on road.

I dont think you should be worried about the ej20det motor you got in there not surprassing 330hp, them jdm motors are build very well and will handle the oomf. And the turbo, vf34, I think it comes standard on the us spec 2.5 litre sti models here, which is much to say abou tit be great, I think you should get the 16g turbo which came on the sti ra models, they used to have a bunch of nice condition used ones goesing for around 400$ usd but I guess you'd have to settle for new ones http://search.ebay.com/search/search...trypage=search , why the 16g? you will get more top end rpm power than with the vf34, the vf34 is overrated IMO, subaru guys upgrade to this thing thinking its jesus or something, when its really an overpriced paper weight.

its the pistons damian, subaru turbo pistons - IIRC its number 2 which are reffered to as 'chocolate' pistons due to them melting at 'what could be considered' low bhp tuned outputs.

aint that some shit, a turbo engine with low potency, I swear the japs screw ever market except theirs....... Well, not on the 4g63's though, 500hp on a stock bottom end is no myth. Maybe you should tare the block apart and get some performance pistons? Hell you can get them cheaper here in the states at current exchange rates.

check out sloboy, they got practically all your go fast parts in one stop, http://www.slowboyracing.com/shop.ph...93ffbd793e57d8
I know perrin performance does a majority fo subaru shtie too http://www.perrinperformance.com/ and P&L (local chicagoland tuner) does nothing but subarus http://www.pandlmotorsports.com/

the evential plan is to go down the 2.5 rebuild route. Got my eye on a sc450 engine (www.scoobyclinic.com), which is 450bhp/480ftlb +.
the UK turbos just had cast pistons which give up around the 350bhp mark, but wanna stay on the safe side due to not havig the cash for the sc450.
once the sc450 is in i'll also be having to change the gearbox and clutch, the gearbox will be a 6 speed box, dog gears 1 to 5 and uk turbo 5th as 6th gear to sit cruising on the motorways in the quiet. The clutch will have to be change for a twin/tripple plate clutch (eitehr excede or hks) which should mean i can boost the engine up to 550bhp with out any problems.
once i get to 550 then i'm kinda stuck, if i wanna keep it reliable and not spend a fortune, 500bhp on the road is more or less max thats useable day to day anyway, and at that there aint much around that will even come close let alone be quicker.
weighing only 1290kg anyway i can switch the pannels for fibre glass and save about 100kg in all, but 50kg will then be added for a roll cage. If i wanna go further i can strip it, but tbh don't think i'm gonna go that mad while its my main car.
also on the list are the brakes, prob going full ap setup with 6pot fronts and 4 pot rears (depending on what size wheel they go under, not going over 17's cos any bigger destroys the handeling).
after that not real sure, all the suspension is already done, so kinda leave me at a loose end lol, only need about £20,000 to do that lot though pmsl
