Well ive finally got a new project, in the form of a 1995 Kawasaki ZZR E3 600cc

The bike was imported from America in 2002 and has had 1 uk owner till me.

It already features terrible paint, a hideous gold detailed body and a few choice parts.

the idea is to make it a bit faster, a bit better handling, a lot better looking and a bit more versatile.

Front end lowered 25mm by dropping forks through yokes
Rear 40mm Jack-up kit and ZZR11 rear spring on shock

Full Norton John Player Special paint job
Wheels powdercoated deep metallic grey
Frame finished in deep metallic grey with polished areas

yeah, that veedub GiS Edition went a while ago its been replaced by that there bike, and an 05 Focus

PROGRESS

all bodywork has now been removed, ready for patch up repairs to it, and respraying. colour decisions changed again this time to Kawasaki Kiryana colours.

The engines gonna be removed with in the next couple of weeks or so and the frame polished to get rid of that hideous gold. Photos to follow in the next few days!!!!

cool mate - and because i know you i reckon thaat colour choice will change again! Saying that, whichever you go for I am confident that it will look the muts nuts!

well here they are, the first two are the rolling chassis, the brakes (now found out to be ZZR1100 items!!!!) have been removed from the forks, ready to be stripped, rebuilt, and re-painted. Two of the vaccuum pipes from Carbs 1 & 4 were not connected to the airbox, neither was the main pipe, meaning the engine was making an odd noise, plugged them in and it runs sweet as a nut, meaning it desont have to come out now for a full rebuild.

The frame is due for sanding down and being resprayed satin black in the next couple of weeks.

this is due to it being a hideous gold colour that differs over the frame and swignarm!

The bodywork is 50% sanded down now and ready for primer paint. Colous changed about 15 times today (well predicted John) but black is in the lead again, although i may end up looking like a ghostrider wannabe (shudder!)

Rear Seat solo cowel has been ordered and should arrive before xmas!

Gimme some ideas for paint though guys! Im stupmed!

and remeber, bikes are fun!

I think Black with Pink or some very nice colour highlighting bits. All black will look a bit silly and super rubbish! Although you could always paint it purple and have winnie the pooh stickers on like that last picture .. lmao, i remember that picture its proper old! .. even see Tim in the back!

Bit more progress tonight

the bodywork, (starting to be) sanded down

The back end, jack up kit and back wheel removed, rear caliper removed and ready for strip down and paint, rear hugger remoevd, and swingarm ready to be removed for strip down, polish. Found the rear wheel features a renthal sprocket, so that'll be good for better acceleration.

bit more progress today

frame stripdown (nearside) and test painted in satin black

and (finally?) decided on the paint scheme, classic kawasaki green!!!!

rear swingarm coming off tomorrow for polishing, and wheels both being stripped down for repainting in satin black.

rear shock, swingarm and linkages removed

(gonna weld an additional brace to the bottom of the swingarm like so!)

shock srping will get re-powder coated snot green, as well as the jack up linkages

frame, is starting to look a bit better, needs a couple more coats, to look real smart

Reading this thread I realize that I really really need to get my hand on my girlfriends Yamaha BT Bulldog and modify it just a liiiiittle bit ;)

Looks awesome mate and the decision to use the ever so classic Kawa-green is spot on!

Dont thinking of making it into a streetfighter?

Hej Danne. Yeh, i did think of making it into a streetfighter, but i do to many miles for no fairing! it gets a bit uncomfortable!

and yeah, get it modded! turbo, jack up the back end a bit, and a nice paint job! she WILL love it ;)
