I was chatting with Johnathan & asked if he wanted me to do an translation of my new project for the english section of Z...

Car: BMW E30 318i

year: 1987

power output: approx: 100 bhp

colour: white + some rust

goal: To show the masses that it is quite possible - AGAIN - to Drift & compete seriously with a lowpowered car - To Drift without 1000+ bhp that is :-)

The car needs to to be finnish before the event called Action Meet, held at Mantorp Park Raceway on

How much is it possible to lighten an Bimmer 318i ?

After this -. the Bimmer will be used for stuntdriving for some shows my new company has been booked for. Check out my new webpage @ . . .

aha, i will be looking to see how you go on with this, drifting and BMW's. You got my attention now :)

Also, its not a big power thing for drifting as you know mate! Its all about the setup, and i will be really pleased to see this thing going, especially with those special graphics on too ;)

Things i need to get done before the competition & also things i already have laying around the house :-)

6-point racing harness
OMP racing steringwheel
steeringhub
bucket seat - on loan from a friend - thanxs Jimmy

What i belive i should have time to get done:

lighten the car from every single piece that there in "no need for" to run the car.

cut front & rear springs 50%

attach double rear springs (much stiffer rear end)

weld the diferential

Weld some kind og simple rollcage

check the brakes so they "work :-) "

remowe one of the two silencers

mount a rear strutbrace of my own design

the car has per4formed as well as i thought it would -

yesterday i attended S-D-S - Swedish Drifting Series, part 2 (of 3)

- i was able to use third gear through the entire course of drifting - this with a BMW with just 113bhp... - but quite light :-)

i came as far as not going through to the best8 - however i did not really expect that either.

Not with this car anyway...

during the day there was also an "try-your-skills-at-drifting - course set up in the parking lot of the racetrack - this course i almost wore doem directly after the competition - doing some 30 odd runs in less than 1hour.. finally the tires wre gone & ended the day wit´h a mindblowing 2:nd gear 2minute long rolling burnout until the rear tires blew (well, on tire blew)

I also got tha ride in the passengerseat with ProDriftSeries driver kenneth Moen from Norway - in his S15.

Now the car is beeing "transformed" into a dragracemachine :-) for next saturday - Then it will be attending some slalomevents & then later on - i´m gonna convert it into an iceracingcar.
