well its about time i started somthing about my run-about car since the corrado is now sold!!!!!

where to start

its a 1986 740 GL with a B230K 2.3 litre carb powered engine and rear wheel drive

i got the car off a bloke at work who had it from 1st August 1986!!!! and was reluctant to sell it.

so i got it for a bargain price and 165,000 miles on the clock. in MINT condition

gave the car a full service, inclduing all belts and oils.

original plans were to leave it alone, but with me that never happens.

the original lights on the back cracked, so i got hold of a set of 960 brand new lights

also, the tyres on the 14" rims were getting on a bit, so a small amount of cash and i had a set of grubby 745 Turbo rims with brand new tyres. gave them a good clean and theyre like new!

rear wiper removed, windows tinted, and some clarion ice in place of the archaic volvo shite!

future plans - LPG conversion, lowering 20mm and more multimedia, then ,maybe leather, and a T5 lump!

what "upgrades" are you considering then? buying a injection unit and shove it in?

maybe the T5 lump

i wouldnt mind a set of Twin 45 carbs though, combined with a weld-open diff, uprated fuel pump, cam and balanced bottom end! :D

Mate, i reckon we should see something spectacular with this car! I know Volvo's are probably quite popular in Sverige, but here they are not so common, especially the 740!

Looks clean though, and those rear lights deffinatly look better! I really miss driving my mums 740GL about, i felt invincible! Your never going to get super performance out of it because of how you want to use it, so maybe all those sytling plans you had for the Calibra that time could show up again ;)

BTW - who tinted your windows, i want mine doing?

Really nice 745 you've got there..
If you're going to put a T5 engine in that one it will go crazy :D. The Volvo 850 got a better HP/weight then Supra mkIII, and then you're taking 200 kg's of the 850 and still got thoose 225 HP it will go as hell!

err. nm what i just said. get a v70R and STRIP IT, get the haldex 4wd and the tuned T5 engine at 300bhp ^^. THATS a project :D
