Well, I sold the Punto a good while back and was on the hunt for an Alfa 146 and after viewing many a dog about 12 I'd say I found a decent one with everything good on the car.
It is only a 1.4 TS engine but has a nice bit of power in for the tiny excuse of an engine with 103bhp.
It is the "sport" version meaning it has the Junior bodykit from the factory and 30mm lowering springs on the car.
The car is a dream to drive loving handling and the sound even though it is a pissy 1.4 it sounds very nice, with a good induction noise at 2-3k revs and a nice rasp the higher you go.
First things where to get the Timing Belts changed which where never changed in the whole 7 years of it's existence which I could believe they lasted that long with 52k on the clocks was madness that they where replaced so got that done along with an oil and filter change and then I bought a set of Denso Spark plugs with there being 8 of them they cost me 115 euro which wasn't bad as the local garage wanted 300 euro for them lol.

JL Audio 500/1 Mono block amp
JL Audio 300/2 Class AB amp
JL Audio 12W6V2 D4 Subwoofer
Focal 165 K2 Power Compoents
Alpine 9855R headunit.
Stinger O guage cable from the battery to the block distirbutor and then 4 gauage from there to the two amps. All Phoenix Gold interconnects from the headunit to the amps.
I have never had an Alfa, but i have had a Lancia engined fiat and that was so bad for
leaking oil. It would come out as fast as it went in, it was truly insane.

The oil leak should be fixed soon just need to get the bolt rethreaded on the sump and it should be fine hopefully.
The stereo is nice can be nice a bassy and can be mint depending on what way you have the sub level at:D Cost me enough lol.

haha well after the first italian car i was put off forever.
Although if this counts, it was a Fiat Tempra, but the body is the same as the alfa 155. We had a 155 in the breakers, so i had everything in the fiat from that Alfa. Leather, steering wheel, glass, brakes etc :)
It was my Fiat Romeo :)

Thanks man for that. I am an Alfa head through and through bud. As you can see my old man has a 2l 147 so I have been bitten by the bug. He had a 146 1.6 Junior before exactly the same as mine just with a 1.6 engine in it.
I do love the car and it should be reliable as anything it has been maintained to a high standard as the women I bought it off her husband had a B4 Legacy o he knew about servicing etc so it was mint.
Only has 54k on the clocks for a 7 year old car that is nothing. The body is not the best but that can be all sorted in time to be fair, it does sound lovely though.

I wonder if we buy a car from IRE Anthon, if we can keep it registered that way and still drive it here. I see stacks of cars with IRL plates on as they get off the boat just up the island and it makes me think about that every time.

I'm sure you can, if your insurance company will cover you on a foreign car. The general census seems to be that you can drive another eu-regged car for up to a year, but countries without import duty (or registration duty as they call it) doesn't have much to gain by enforcing it.
