Yes, I got hold of a broken RS4 wagon and took the engine (inc turbos, air intake, manifold etc), gearbox, drive train, half shafts, hubs, wiring loom, ECU ... near enough everything! and put it in my S4.
There is not much S4 kit left in the car now! and although the S4/RS4 engine are both 2.7tt, with the RS4 having much stronger internals it behaves a lot different, whereas the S4 used to give up around 5500rpm the RS4 engine goes all the way to 7000, much better engine in my opinion ...

I doubt it was the engine, probably the turbos were giving out, as in pushing hot air, the rs4 has larger ones, which may be a big more laggy but have more top end. That is crazy regardless, swappin a whole rs4 into an s4 must be costly!

It is, its the better heads and cams on the RS4 engine that allow it to work so good at high revs, I originally put KO4 (RS4 turbos) on my S4 engine with RS4 injectors, fuel pump etc etc, althought it was quicker, more power, it would still run out of puff after 5kish ..
Yes, it was crazy, it just seemed to happen, and then the project carried on from there ... the RS4 engine I was offered only have 10k on the clock as opposed to my S4 engine which was over 80k, so, as I saw it as well, I was getting a new car :)
But what I am left with is one unique car, which is good for everything. I can go down the shops in it, take it on the track, or just beat all those young lads in their expensive supercars :)
