AMS Monster evo
This car was brought to us by a customer and close friend of hours Tommy passalaqua. Tommy's EVO was already quite the force to be reckoned with. Making over 600 whp in its earlier trim.
That wasn't enough for Tommy, He wanted to go fast....REALLY fast his goal was to build a car for the Bonneville salt flat races and Texas standing mile here in the state. We had quite the game plan to achieve this. The following are a series of pics of the custom build we are doing for tommy in his quest for 230mph!
First here is how the car was delivered to us

After some initial fabrication and fitment

[/
Some more pics of the header as it was coming together

Some more pics showing the radiator, Custom VSR Inlet manifold, Air to water intercooler and just a whole BUNCH of custom AMS work

Front AMS Drag brake kit installed

Rear AMS Drag brake kit installed

Another shot of the interior

One more of the engine bay

Trunk

[/
Some pics of the Air to water intercooler almost finished:

more Air to water IC work and the Seat being installed.

Mocking up the Kirkey seat.

Soon to be one of the fastest beer coolers in the world!

Carbon roof being fitted and some wiring with Eric (drag car driver) and Tommy (the owner of the car)

AMS Carbon Fiber roof installed

Close up of the roof skin, A+ fitment FTW!

The monstrous Kirkey seat.

Tommy and Eric doing the spaghetti work.
Getting closer to the current status of the car
Here are some pics:

as of a week ago

Turbo outlet pipe.

Feed pipe to the air to water intercooler. We used stainless steel instead of aluminum pipe for added safety

Matt working on the driver's seat bracket.

Matt forming the roof fin rails.

Finished roof fin formed to the shape of the roof.[/
Here are some updates as of 5 min ago

Finished down-pipe piece

Weld on the down-pipe

Shot of the engine bay

Matt working on the roll cage...

Custom Shifter base mount ans staging brake...

A shot of the driver's compartment

Finished seat mount
The wheels and tires on the car now are NOT what will be run on the salt flats, you are required to run very special compound tires and sealed wheels. we have not fitted those on yet as its not really that critical right now
The cage is positioned that way based on Bonneville regulations. The cooler has been used for years. its the most efficient way of storing the ice water for the air to water intercooler. Since the distance is long and weight is not a HUGE concern in a salt flat car we went with a fairly large cooler.
the cooler in our drag car has gone 8.56 and 171 mph in the 1/4... one fast ass cooler.
BTW yes the two valves are for nitrogen...but again those wheels are not being used.
Here are some new pictures of the the work done today on the wastegate and the downpipe.

MORE CAR PORN! we took some more pics today:

more updates. Getting closer and closer to firing her up

The spaghetti work continues...

Hugo wiring up the AEM EMS...

Painless switch panel mounted on the cage.

Rear wing

another shot of the Painless box

[b]

Piping coming out of the Air To water unit...

Finished water cooler pipes

Almost there!

READY !!!

After the car started Tommy asked all the employees here at AMS to sign the trunk, Matt got the honors to go first.

Chris Nielsen the man responsible for the artwork on the exhaust manifold...

Last but not least, Martin the president of AMS.

STAY TUNED!!! VIDEOS COMING SOON [/B

Inget man skulle vilja ha och pendla med varje dag men den fyller antagligen sitt syfte på bästa sätt.
