DO NOT start this install unless you have a 3" or 4", 2 arm, gear puller with flat teeth. That lower 24mm nut comes right off but the lower strut casting is press fit onto a massive bolt shaft. Oddly enough, the bolt or shaft that the lower strut attaches to is rubber mounted, very similar to a lower control arm bushing. Any 2 arm puller with humped teeth won't fit between the lower strut mount and the bushing shell. So get the puller ($20 from Kragen) with teeth the look kinda like a big flat screwdriver blade.
I took the lower adjusting cup off the new coilover and and measured the total threads inside the cup. Approx 1 1/2 inches. There's another 2 inches or more of inside empty space to sink the coilover body into the cup for lowering. I set the lock ring on the coilover body at 1 1/2 inches of thread and reinstalled the cup. That's full thread engagement but no more. Slapped the coilover in, tire on, drop the rig and measure. Right around 32 1/4 on r/h side.
