Nästa BMW M3 med Tri-Turbo och rak sexa

Ja, då har man börjat testa nästa M3...

Here it is - The first prototype of the new BMW M3 which leaves a N/A V8 behind for an advanced inline six cylinder with tri-turbo configuration. Tri-Turbo? It has something to do with a new development of M-Technology which will also find it's way into the M5 and M6 eventually.

Although you are looking at a four door, The four door will not make production this time as sales have been disappointing.

Under this prototype is the chassis and all new front and rear suspension of the M3 Coupe. The front nose cone is of the Coupe but hastily attached onto a sedan body and covered in camouflage so you do not see the evidence.

The reason why this prototype exists is because 3er coupe prototypes are not yet readily accessible especially with the M cars. The 3er or now as it is known 4er are testing behind closed doors at private facilities for the first prototypes , BMW are currently producing more as we speak in readiness for the beginning of public testing this autumn.
However the engine was undergoing bench testing at Garching and is also under testing in an X3 prototype.
Over the next few months you will see some interesting M prototypes, including current and next generation M3 Coupe and something new for a M3 and seen before with an M5.

Coolt när en av världens främsta biltillverkare äntligen har förstått att den där turbon är häftigt! V8 är gamalt och förlegat! ;)

Funderar lite på hur många hästar den kommer hamna på, ska dom upp i samma nivåer som idag kommer det blir rätt hög litereffekt.

Runt 450 hk och lägre vikt än dagens M3 är vad det ryktas om.

Ryktas det inte alltid om lägre vikt som i slutändan visar sig vara samma eller högre?

Alla modeller som kommit efter nya 6-serien har fått lägre vikt än föregångaren (X3, 1-serien). BMW är på rätt håll. Att gå ner till sexa är en av anledningarna varför man siktar på R6 istället för V8:an.

Det stod det inte, antog bara att det inte kommer vara en mycket större sexa än de runt 3 liter vi ser idag.

Kuuuuuuuul för Keps-Kalle 19år med nytaget körkort som köper sig en halvt ihjälplågad M3 som förstabil att köra och skruva med, om 20 år :D
